Illicium floridanum Florida Anise

The shipping was amazing. Packed so no injury would occur. The bushes were just the right size and price. I will be ordering again.

The 1 gal. plants are large and healthy, were carefully packed, and arrived remarkably quickly after I ordered them.

The Florida Anise (Illicium Floridanum) plants arrived well-packed and healthy. I let them acclimatize on my back porch, planted them the next day, and they are holding up well, showing healthy growth after a couple of weeks. These do better in partial shade. I had left one out in the full Florida sun for 5 hours before planting, and it looked a little wilted. But after I planted it in the partial shade, it has always looked healthy and growing.

What a wonderful shrub for semi-shade and for four-season interest. It may be slow growing but once it attains some stature, it makes a lovely addition to the garden. There are many cultivars along with the straight species and for Z6, I recommend floridanum over parviflorum for hardiness. Deer never bother this which is a huge plus!!
