Description

Magnolia acuminata (Cucumber Magnolia) deciduous Magnolia found in the eastern USA; large specimans can be found in the Appalachian mountains; grows well in full sun or partial shade, but in southern zones partial shade is best.  Mildly fragrant yellow-green tulip shaped flowers appear in late spring. The green cones resemble cucumbers, hence the name. As the cones mature, they turn a stunning bright red that is especially attractive. 

Mature Height apprx 60 ft.
