Waxmyrtle is an extremely versatile evergreen that can harbor many different looks for different spaces. Post-planting update

Posted by Emma on Nov 11th 2024

2.5 years ago I purchased 5 baby wax myrtle from mailordernatives, and im thrilled to see how theyve thrived in that time. The female myrtles (3/5 plants), are now for the first time, producing bayberries! In abundance! When I first received the wax myrtles they were baby shrubs (around 9-12"). 2.5 years later they are around 6 feet tall, 4-5 feet width/length, with lovely dense foliage. Were zone 7b (north shore of long island), in a coastal area that experiences A LOT of high winds, rain (around 50" yearly) and temps that widely fluctuate. My wax myrtles have kept their leaves even through periods of snow and cold snaps. During some crazy wind storms my shrubs got a bit beat up (broken branches and whatnot) but i was surprised how well they fared (considering how many trees went down all over town), and they bounced back very quickly like nothing happened. Hands down best plant purchase ive ever made, fast growing native evergreen shrubs that are super low maintenance and they are beautiful and smell lovely and their berries support wildlife.

    MORELLA (MYRICA) CERIFERA WAXMYRTLE 1GALLON

I have been buying native plants from various sources, and this nursery by far has been the best. From the amazing selection of hard to find native plants, to extreme care in packaging and shipping the plants, to the plants themselves, everything is perfect. The plants arrive in beautiful shape, look very healthy and well taken care for, and the root ball is well established but not pot bound. This will be my go to nursery for all the plants on my list.

I have never been less than extremely pleased with any plant ordered from Mail Order Natives. Plants are shipped promptly with excellent packaging. Every plant I have received has a good healthy root system, but is not pot bound. Plants are never spindly or sickly and have healthy foliage. I always look forward to seeing what is available - the selection has many hard to find plants.

    Great purchase

Purchased a handful of these trees to use for a native screen in the backyard instead of an opaque fence. These plants were in great condition when they arrived... as good, if not better looking than most nurseries! And they are delivered to my front door at a reasonable price. I definitely recommend.
