Description

Myrica heterophylla - Swamp Bayberry 

Evergreen shrub that reaches 6-8 feet in height and spread. Does well in sandy acidic soils with moisture in sun or partial shade. 

Native to the southeastern US. Makes for a nice ornamental, similar to common waxmyrtle but with larger leaves. Produces small dark fruit.
