Rhododendron austrinum 'Moonbeam' is a selection by Aaron Varnadoe. According to George Wood, an avid plantsman from Tuscaloosa, "I've never seen a better R. austrinum." It is the first R. austrinum to bloom in his Tuscaloosa garden. Yellow fragrant blooms.

    The product arrived well packaged, no damage, and very healthy. Since I planted the product is not looking as well as the other two native azaleas I received and planted at the same time in the same area. I believe that it's nothing more than root shock, and it will rebound and catch up with the other two.

    I ordered 3 native azaleas. The jack melton, the emily and the moonbeam). They are spectacular !!! The emily arrived with blooms even. Have ordered from other place - NO COMPARISON I will definitely be ordering from here again

    Moonbeam I finally found you

    My late aunt had been looking for this one for years and years. You can imagine my surprise when I found it by accident online. It almost felt like my aunt guided me to it. I had to buy two. They arrived smaller than the others but that is ok. They are being babied and growing. Every time I see these blooms I will think of her with fondness. Packed well and arrived in great shape.
