Torreya taxifolia (Florida Torreya) reaches 30-40ft. Endangered evergreen conifer that has stiff dark green needle-like leaves. Female plants have green - dark purple fruit that ripen in the fall. Florida Torreya can be found in the Florida Panhandle and in southern Georgia (just north of the Florida line) along the Appalachicola River. The species is considered endangered because it has been affected by a fungal disease that has wiped out a lot of the population. We will be offering known females and males in the near future.
3 gallon container - shipping trees at least 3 feet tall
Since Florida Torreya is on the endangered list, we are only certified to ship these plants to Florida and North Carolina. Orders from other states will be notified and refunded.

Thriving In North Carolina
I had to get this critically endangered tree. All the information I've read, this tree is a glacial relect and Flordia is not its native range. It's really a cold adapted species. It's thriving in my area in NC that does get cold. I don't know know the gender yet. I might get another one in the future. Shows no signs of disease. Arrived healthy.
