Zamia pumila (Coontie) 2-3 ft; a cycad; the only host plant for the rare Atala butterfly; good ground cover for droughty sites; hardy to Zone 9; interesting cone-like fruit with large pink-orange seeds (which are poisonous, by the way). SIZE: One gallon.

I was very happy to see these plants listed available. They don't come up often - and I see they are again not available. The plant quality was not completely consistent within the 5 that I purchased, but none were bad. The price is very good. The next time they are listed, I will definitely get 5 more - maybe 10
